Maple and Walnut Monogram End Grain Cutting Board

Your initials. Your heirloom.

This is more than a cutting board — it's a piece of functional art personalized to last a lifetime. Handcrafted from hard rock maple with a classic end grain checkerboard pattern, this board features a stunning ¼" deep walnut monogram inlay set seamlessly into the surface. No visible seams. No shortcuts. Just clean, flawless joinery that becomes more beautiful with every use.

The deep walnut inlay isn't applied or burned — it's cut precisely into the maple and fitted with hand-selected walnut stock, then sanded perfectly flush so the transition between woods is invisible to the eye and the touch. The result is a board that looks as good on your counter as it does in your hands.

Critically, the walnut monogram inlay is also cut in end grain — not edge grain. This isn't just an aesthetic choice; it's a structural one. End grain and edge grain wood move at vastly different rates as humidity and temperature change. Mixing the two in a cutting board causes the woods to fight each other over time, leading to cracking, warping, and eventual board failure. By matching the grain orientation of both the maple field and the walnut inlay, the entire board expands and contracts as a single unit — season after season, year after year.

Personalized to order with your choice of initial in an elegant script font.
