Built to Last. Made to Be Passed Down.
The Maple End Grain Cutting Board is handcrafted in Colorado from dense, sustainably sourced hard maple — one of the finest woods for a working kitchen. Its end grain construction naturally draws knife edges into the wood fibers rather than across them, protecting both your knives and the board for decades of daily use.
Whether it's anchoring a spread of artisan cheeses on your granite countertop or standing up to a Sunday butcher session, this board brings warmth, weight, and craftsmanship to every moment at the counter.
Why End Grain?
- Self-healing surface — wood fibers close back up after each cut
- Knife-friendly — dramatically reduces dulling compared to edge grain or plastic
- Reversible design — both sides are fully finished and ready to use, so you can flip it for a fresh surface or preserve one side for serving
- Staggered checkerboard face — the offset end grain pattern isn’t just striking to look at; it adds structural integrity and makes each board one of a kind
Care & Longevity
Every board leaves our Colorado workshop finished with two coats of OSMO Butcher Block Oil — a food-safe, penetrating oil that nourishes the wood from within and provides a durable, natural-looking finish right out of the box.
Hand wash only. To keep your board in peak condition, apply a coat of Boulder Board & Block Co.’s Proprietary Board Butter every 4–6 weeks. A 2 oz. starter tin is included with every purchase so you’re ready to go from day one.
Boulder Board & Block Co. offers a lifetime resurfacing program — ship your board back to us and we'll restore it to like-new condition.
